1. Gordon Beach — Central promenade
The lively, central all-rounder — the definitive Tel Aviv beach experience.
Gordon Beach is the beating heart of the Tel Aviv seafront: central, buzzing and fully equipped, it's the beach most visitors picture when they think of the city. It sits right on the main promenade near the marina, with easy access from the big seafront hotels, and it captures the essential Tel Aviv beach scene — matkot paddles thwacking, cafés humming, and the whole city seemingly out on the sand.
Facilities are excellent: lifeguards, showers, sunbed and umbrella rentals, beach bars and restaurants, and a seawater pool (Gordon Pool) right alongside. The atmosphere is sociable and energetic rather than tranquil, which is exactly what most people come for.
It's the natural first choice for a first-time visitor who wants everything on hand. Come early on summer weekends to claim a good spot before the crowds fill in.
Good to know: The most central, best-equipped beach — arrive early on summer weekends, as it fills up fast.
